September manis: looks like I’m taking the long way around to fall colors this year

  1. This September, I wasn’t quite ready for ‘true fall’ colors just yet (it was so hot!) but I really enjoyed these transitional shades.

    Top Row, Left to Right

UNT Ready for Takeoff (2 coats), Butter London Nail Foundation Priming Basecoat (slightly tan ridge filler, 1 coat)
Pahlish Send Nudis, PPU Rewind 2023 (2 coats)
Swamp Gloss Feed Me! PPU January 2024 (2 coats)
Cuticula Limitless QDTC, Apple Cider scent

Feed Me! By Swamp Gloss is awesome on its own, but I really enjoyed wearing it over Pahlish Send Nudis as well. I think if I try this again, I will only do one coat of Send Nudis and possibly 3 of Feed Me! To get more of the blue flakes, as I felt they were a little sparse on some nails. I really LOVED this combo though!

Olive Ave Polish Raindrop (2 coats)
Cuticula Limitless QDTC, Apple Cider scent

Pretty color but I realized I probably duped myself by purchasing this, oops! I should have gone through my stash better before ordering, but, I was being a touch impulsive. Easy to apply and lovely formula though.

    Olive Ave Polish Afterglow

Oh. My. Goodness. This is definitely a new favorite! I saw that this color was low stock and moving to semi-retired, which made me go from waiting till Black Friday to place an order to impulsively placing an order that very night. I’m glad I didn’t miss out on this! Although I didn’t need to be in a hurry; it’s still in stock on the website. This could be a one coater for people who are way better at this than me (I always need at least 2 to make things look even all across the nail) but the coverage is so good with the first coat. I wish I liked everything in my collection as much as I love this polish!

    Bottom Row, Left to Right

UNT Ready for Takeoff (2 coats), Butter London Nail Foundation Priming Basecoat (slightly tan ridge filler, 1 coat)
    Olive Ave Polish Patterson
Cuticula Limitless QDTC, Apple Cider scent

I picked this on Black Friday last year and have been so excited to wear it this fall. It did not disappoint. Perfect orangey-red for hot, summer to fall weather. I will probably be putting this on again before the season is over. I think it would look amazing with all sorts of toppers, too.

UNT Ready for Takeoff (2 coats), Butter London Nail Foundation Priming Basecoat (slightly tan ridge filler, 1 coat)
    Zoya Talia (2 coats)
Cuticula Limitless QDTC, Apple Cider scent

Now this is a teal I love! I couldn’t quite wear it this summer, but it feels right for early fall; just bright enough to go with the 80+ degree weather but dark enough to feel seasonal. I swapped the thin brush for their wide paddle brush on my bottle and it’s seriously so worth the change… this was really easy to apply now. The only downside to Zoya’s cremes for me is that even with a ridge filling base coat, the vertical lines on my nails really show through. It doesn’t stop me from using them of course, but I REALLY notice it in photos.

UNT Ready for Takeoff (2 coats), Butter London Horse Power Rescue Base coat (1 coat)
Death Valley Nails High Plains (3 coats)
Cuticula Limitless QDTC, Apple Cider scent

Another perfect transitional color IMO, High Plains strikes a sweet spot between a summery polish and a perfect fall color. The shimmer in this is so nicely balanced; it compliments the base color without overwhelming it. Three coats is a must for me as it’s kind of sheer and I really prefer it built up to opacity.
