This is 3 weeks after getting a builder gel manicure. I wanted to get them filled every month but I can’t stand this gap. I’m not sure if this a normal 3 week growth or if my nails grow fast? It looks awful, but I don’t want to spend the money more often than once a month. Plus I don’t enjoy spending my free time at the salon. Are there other options for me? My natural nails break so easily ughhh

  1. That’s pretty normal growth for 3 weeks. If you want to squeeze more out of the set visually, natural blend or French tip sets can look good for longer, especially if your nail tech is able to do a blend to clear at the cuticle. That said, after the 3 week mark, the structure of the nail enhancement will start to become unbalanced so you’ll need to be extra careful with your nail care routine to make sure that no damage is caused by the time you’re able to get a fill. I personally prefer to fill at the three week mark, but I’ve been able to stretch it a little longer when I need to.

Edit to add: by natural blend/french tip I don’t mean only a white/natural coloured tip can work- you can have the tip be any colour or you can have nail art over a natural base- the main thing is to work off a base nail enhancement that is clear at the cuticle and an opaque nude at the free edge, blended together in the middle. This will visually transition the eye from the nail enhancement back to your natural nail, rather than having a sharp difference between the colour of the nail enhancement and the natural nail.

Hopefully I’m explaining this clearly 😅
