My son (9) loves do paint his nails different designs. He got real big into The Kid Laroi about a year ago and was inspired by his nail art.
Primarily sticks with his favorite color and then a checker print or a frog ha
Today he’s attempted to hydro drip his nails into the polish (I think I’m saying that correctly) and each time it was a huge fail. It looked pretty in water but was an ugly mess on his finger.
Being a typical mom I tried to help him clean them up a bit and make them still doable and cool. Even tho they definitely didn’t look like the YouTube video reel. I told him to add a clean black tip and make the mess look intentional. He was pleasantly surprised with his ending result and said thank you for helping him, but I know he wants it to look cool like the nails in the video. Anyone have advice on how he could do it next time?

This is what he did:
-Warm water
-Slowly poured small amounts of nail polish in the water close to the surface so it wouldn’t sink
-quickly used a tooth pick to mix the pattern before it started to get tacky
-dipped finger nail facing down over the paint and slowly pulling up. Using a second tooth pick to wash away the excess.
-had a second bowl with cold water to place the dipped nail in to harden into place.

Also the weird dirt marks on him are temporary tattoos that have faded haha 😆 he enjoys drawing on himself with tattoo markers I’ll include a photo to show.
