  1. [ usual disclaimer to please ignore my rushed and 10 hour old disintegrating eye makeup, didn’t have time to even curl my lashes that day zzz ]

    **brand ; OLENS**

    **pattern ; EYELIGHTER GLOWY**

    **shade ; BROWN**

    g.dia ; 13.1mm

price ; USD29 for 2 pairs of monthlies

lighting ; indirect sunlight in overcast/drizzling evening

for reference i have classic dark brown east asian eyes, ~12.8mm diameter; my natural colour peeks through the lens near the pupil.

eyelighter glowy brown is a natural or slightly enlarging lens with a prominent dark brown limbal ring, a soft ashy brown blend, and a lighter more candlelit champagne crescent ‘highlight’. the overall effect is sweet and doll like, chocolate candy, wearable manga eyes with a hint of light and a lot of depth. the photos in this review are in low light; the lens looks lighter in stronger light, and the limbal ring is very close to my natural eye colour.

but, while its pattern is pretty and meant to be natural, because of its distinct limbal ring, it is better suited to defined features and higher contrast, and may look overwhelming or fake if you have softer or less defined features or colouring. it suits cleaner, defined makeup.

the lens also tends to rotate; the highlight is meant to be at the bottom of the iris, but can sometimes shift to the top or even the sides and it can look very strange, especially if its position is different in either eye. the height of your eye may determine how obvious the ‘highlight’ is, by determining how much of it is visible. it’s great to take a few photos in when you first pop them in, but in my experience needs to be adjusted regularly.

i also found it slightly less comfy compared to olens’ other monthlies; it felt a bit thicker and drier to wear, though overall it was fine and ive worn it all day without issue.

overall, it’s a very pretty, adorable lens, but just not very practical and generally not my favourite. not sure if ill be repurchasing this one; if anyone knows a way to keep the lens from rotating round and round, let me know 😥
