How to turn into a real zombie for Halloween- wear dark polish. 🧟♀️ Wear a light colored polish on pulse ox monitoring finger. ((Swipe for difference between light and dark))
This feels like one of those things that everyone else knows but I sure as heck didn't! Y'all, I spent a solid half hour trying to figure this out….thinking my pulse ox was dead, or maybe I was 🙃
I’m fevery. It’s the middle of the night. And this feels so dumb. But ~~cold/flu/COVID/RSV/allergy~~ FU Lung Season is upon us. So I’m throwing it out there in case anyone else didn’t know or needed a reminder.
If you’ve got a lung condition, have any doctors appointments upcoming, or are starting to get sick to the point where a Dr or hospital may be needed- either take the polish off one finger or intentionally put a lighter color on one.
I spent a stupid amount of time trying to get this pulse ox to work, fumbling around to change batteries, trying to make my icy hands warm. Eventually I realized that it was all my darker nails- specifically with no topcoat, which is kind of matte. Dark with topcoat yielded results between these two pics. And lighter were all consistent. Unsure how magnetics play into the equation.
Products used: mooncat – getting even nail primer
Darker polish used: ILNP – Frankie (magnetic)
Lighter polish used: LynB – Athymy (glow in the dark)
Topcoat: Holo Taco – Glossy taco…on all but the finger that had the flawed reading.
I don’t have a great comparison of the shade difference as I wasn’t planning on showing this failed experiment (in the light). Snapped this of the glow though 🙂
