Second photo is not mine, it's an official
swatch of Death Valley Nails Witch's Slate.

Story time: so I've really liked Death Valley Nail's Witch's Slate since the first time I saw it, but unfortunately I don't have an easy way to buy it (I'm in Europe and I prefer to avoid high shipping costs), also I'm not totally sure I want to invest in a thermal polish because I'm only going to get a few wears out of it before the effect goes away. Also the light state of Witch's Slate seems like might look weird with my skintone.

Anyway, I still liked the idea of this polish, so when I saw Emily de Molly's Deep Sea Glam in February PPU, it felt like it could be a vibe dupe. Several months later, I finally got around to trying out that idea 😅 I added a dark gradient to fake the thermal effect too, I'm pleasantly surprised with the result of that, I'll have to try gradients more often.

I love this! And I like the tone in your purple a bit more too!

I don’t buy thermals either for the same reason. I love the look of them half transitioned though so I think I might try this. Thanks for posting!
