All my skincare is a year old now, so I definitely needed replacements.

Previous items that these are replacing:

-COSRX Low pH Good Morning Cleanser: 8.5/10. Generally speaking I love this cleanser! And I see a difference when I use it. But it feels sometimes a little harsh, since my skin is too dry sometimes, but other than that when I have a lot of buildup (makeup, etc) is amazing. Just wanted to try something new before repurchasing. WRP.

-Rohto Mentholatum – Hada Labo Shirojyun Premium – 7/10. Not bad, I just don’t know if it truly a significant difference, so I want to try other things to see if this product really made a difference. I went with this one over the Gokujyun originally because I wanted it to work on my hyperpigmentation, which I think it did help a little, but I felt I needed more hydration so decided to try the Gokujyun this time. MRP.

-Skin1004 Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum: 6/10. I don’t have much thoughts on this sunscreen. I liked it, didn’t leave a cast on my brown skin. It felt a little too glowy though and I could feel it in my face all day which I don’t love, and I believe it might have broken me out since I tended to get more small pimples when using it (acne prone and i already have acne, so its hard to gauge when a product causes more, so the fact I noticed this one days a lot I think). Since it wasn’t super spectacular, I don’t think I will repurchase, at least not for a while or this particular version. Want to give it a second chance in the future however. MRP.

-Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel: 9/10. I really enjoyed this sunscreen, it felt like nothing on my fave, and was very hydrating so my skin felt amazing after using it. I don’t think it’s holy grail status, but that’s because I used it interchangeably with the Skin1004 which I think did both a disservice, since one of them caused some acne. I did take it on a trip for a week and used it exclusively with no bad results, so that’s why I think it might have been the other one. Still, would give it a shot again in the future by itself. WRP.

-COSRX Snail Mucin Power Essence: 3/10. I don’t think this did anything at all on my skin. It also barely absorbed, could feel it on my face for ages, it even felt a little warm. I don’t think I had a full on allergic reaction, but my skin definitely didn’t love it. Never finished the bottle. WNRP.

-COSRX Snail 92 All in One Cream: 5/10. Not a lover, but it worked fine in the summer months as a light weight moisturizer to use before sunscreen and makeup. Still had about 1/4ths left, took it on a trip, didn’t fit the carry-on requirements on the way back, so wasn’t too heartbroken to throw it away. WNRP.

I also wanted to mention other products I’ve tried in the past that I either just didn’t work for me or I found non AB replacement:

-Rohto Mentholatum – Rohto Melano CC Concentration Measures Essence – 6/10. I don’t think it has done that much. Speaking with a friend, he feels the same way. He says he feels it worked better for him on active pimples which I haven’t tried and will, but overall haven’t seen a difference in my acne scars. He mentioned that perhaps vitamin C might not work that well ok darker skin, not sure if that’s true, but for myself I haven’t notice a change. Still want to give it a second chance specially since there have been periods where I haven’t been that constant, so could be user error. MRP.

-Dear Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil: 0/10. Absolutely not. I hated it. I was really excited to try as it was suggested for acne prone and closed comedones skin like mine, but I don’t think I’ve hated a product more. It never went away no matter how much water I used to take it off, still felt greasy and disgusting in my hands, arms, everywhere, and didn’t even take off my makeup properly. My enemy. Tried to use it to wash my brushes and still hated it. WNRP. Replaced it with a non AB product that works amazingly and it’s a quarter of the price.

-Rohto Mentholatum – Hada Labo Gokujyun Super Hyaluronic Face Foam: 2/10. It wasn’t terrible, but it dried my face like crazyyyy. I think it’s just the foam format, because while I’ve experienced dry skin after a cleanser never at this level. I don’t think I want to try foams again. WNRP. Replaced it with good ol’ liquid cleaners.

-BEAUTY OF JOSEON – Relief Sun : Rice + Probiotics: 8/10. My first and OG Asian sunscreen. I fell for the fad and bought it and it changed me. I loved it! Didn’t want to stick with it as it was the only one I tried at the time, and it did leave me pretty shiny which I didn’t love. Open to use it again if I don’t find a HG, specially the new version. MRP.
