  1. I think if they use plastic tips it can work. However there’s a risk the gel comes in contact with your fingertips / exposed under-nail tissue and when the UV leds come in you could get burned.
If you get too much and/or too oftenly gel contacting your skin, you could develop a gel allergy. I had it. Wouldnt wish it on my worse enemy.

  2. Yes. I think you should try to give your nails a break from biting. I used to bite my fingernails too .. no judgement at all. It’s been about 20 years since I stopped and my nails returned to normal length with a naturally long nail bed. What helped me stop was carrying a nail file. It gave me an extra bit of confidence to think about how nicely I could shape my nails once they grew. Every time I felt like biting my nails, instead I would choose to take out my nail file and lightly file the edge of my nails. After a few weeks the look of my nails improved dramatically. After a few months, my nail beds evened out and returned to a normal length.

You can get acrylics soon enough if you wish to help you get in the habit of avoiding biting your nails or you can wear press on nails with glue also. I think press on /glued on nails are less damaging to the nail bed while your nail bed recovers. You can also paint your own nails with a clean nude natural light pink to brighten and smooth the overall appearance.

Try press-ons first, to let them grow out long enough to apply acrylics later. They need to grow a bit more so the gel won’t touch accidentally your skin when it cures.

Same issue, just start with press ons using nail glue and let them grow long enough for gel type glue. Bonus you can get cheap pretty ones from amazon or walmart

  5. If u pop into a nail tech they can recommend stuff, press ons for now would be a good idea u can get gorg ones on shein x that will A- give u an idea of what it’s like having nails, B- hopefully let ur nails grow just a tiny bit more.
    Cuticle oil is also good!

  6. I naturally have small nail beds, and when I used to bite my nails I was still able to find someone who could do it. 🙂
It’s kinda tricky and not everyone can pull that off, but they’re out there.

Everyone’s different, so what worked for me may not work for you, but the way I stopped was to just file my nails whenever I felt that impulse to bite them. Got rid of the jagged edges and they eventually got stronger as my nails recovered, so it’d be difficult to bite them now lol. Been almost a year now!

It would be best to try and grow them out a little, but I understand how difficult that is. Be patient with yourself and try and work on stopping that habit, and don’t be afraid to experiment until you find something that helps you best.

I wish you the best of luck!
