This was my first time getting acrylics done. My mom invited me to go with her. For context, I had painted my nails last Friday with a rusty orange, we went to the salon on Tuesday. My mom’s nails came out looking beautifully and her tech was so nice. Mine barely gave me time to choose a shape or a color. Granted, the shape should have been on me 100%, but it was my first time so I wasn’t even sure what shapes there are. She more or less picked out the color I’m wearing, which, I mostly like it, but it is what it is.
I’m wondering if I’m being too picky because she didn’t completely remove my nail polish, there’s some left on at least five nails. The nails are lumpy and have little bubbles. I also feel like some of them are kind of crooked and misshapen.
I had kind of commented to my mom when the tech went to get the polish color, not complaining, but she told me to not be weird about it. So that’s what adds to me feeling like I am being awkward.

Anyway. Thank you in advance for reading

No you’re not being picky, this is horrendous work and your mom shouldn’t have told you to not be weird about it. In the future it’s always best to speak to your nail tech the moment you see something off with your nails because if they finish it’s going to be a much bigger argument to get them to try and go back to fix their mistakes. You have to advocate for yourself at a lot of salons because they will try to convince you the work looks good or that it’s somehow your fault. I personally would not go back to this place because there are students in beauty school that could’ve done a basic acrylic set better than this.

  3. Ugh I’m so sorry, this is worthy of you going back to the place and showing them. I know it’s been 2 days, but the bubbles/lumps, and the spacing are unacceptable. The color is nice and great for fall!
