currently im using a stamping gel i also tried other nail polishes etc. i keep it quick. the pattern copies to the stamper with no problem but when i try putting it on the nail it smushes like this, am i doing something wrong or is it because of the material im using?

  1. I use stamping polish, not stamping gel. I know there are gels but that might be why it’s harder?

  2. You may be pressing too hard. Try a rolling motion instead of squishing–or vice-versa if that’s what you’re already doing!

  3. I agree with the visa-versa, lol. I don’t know ANYONE who hasn’t had to go through a trial and error period! Not every stamp, stamper or polish is created equal.

Also, if your surface is slick (inhibition layer wiped off, or regular polish, etc), try a light buffing. Once you topcoat, you shouldn’t see any buff Mark’s. 🙂

Using acrylic paint would be better to start with. It dries quicker therefore leaving less room for smudges. You can definitely put gel top coat over it when you’re done. Stamping gel does not make sense

  5. It’s a lot harder than you think! You’re getting there!

For me, I have better luck putting the stamper paint side up on the table and pressing the nail into it and not the other way around.
