What did I do wrong? Why do my nails always look like this only two days after painting them?

  1. Did you apply the polish after showering? Did you dry out your nails with isopropyl beforehand? Additionally some people nail chemistry just don’t like certain base coats or top coats, so I would pay around with that

  2. looks like at least some of it is shrinkage, which is pretty common with seche vite. are you painting the seche vite on while the colour polish is still wet? (actually wet not touch-dry-but-wet-underneath). you can also try switching to a different top coat, sally hansen insta dri and essie good to go are both popular drugstore options.

  3. I think others might be right about the top coat you used having shrinkage – I’ve never used that. What I do notice though is that your index finger looks like what mine did when I first started out and my coats of paint were way, way too thick. It gives a gloopy impression. They should be really thin coats of paint, and you wait for each one to dry for a bit before putting on the next one. (For the third finger, it looks likeyou’re also painting your curticle and a bit of skin.)
