I think they look cute and well done.
But I can see how to others they can look cheap because back in the day it seemed like fake nails only came in square shape and they attracted attention because they looked so fake and obvious, especially when they didn’t match the wearer’s natural nail shape or hands. Then it kind of became the look to have obviously fake nails as a way to ‘show wealth’, because not everyone could afford to have fake nails. Now that there’s a lot more options and skill, you only have square nails if you like them, like you do, or if you’re getting really cheap basic ones. You can tell the difference if you know what to look for, your coworker obviously doesn’t. They’re just seeing square shape and think cheap, and aren’t seeing that they are the right size, aren’t all grown out, that you’ve got two colors blended and that they are nice and even and not chunky.
