Purchase directly at that time (ie not through the Ulta app or Rakuten). There is a chance if you use something like Apple wallet to pay with your BOA card, according to their fine print, that they may not recognize the merchant and provide the cash back.
Mine look like they were approved but I can’t vouch for similar wallets like Amazon or Google or whatever else is out there.
Great deal to combine with the point multiplier and prestige (reusable) coupons – especially because you can pay more to Ulta to get the extra points but then get that extra money back. And it’ll go farther with the sales and coupons.
Couldn’t link to this since it’s within a bank account rewards page after you’ve signed in and done the double authorization with your phone number, but admin said screenshot works. Thanks!
