So as I was browsing on TikTok this video of a cosmetic chemist showed up. She was showing in the video of her making a pink foam sunscreen but at the end of the video she made a point that caught my attention.

"Usually when there's a shake well for sunscreens it makes me feel wary because you don't know how accurate the SPF is each time you apply it to your skin"

So here it seems like she's referring to the milk-type of spfs like the Anessa Perfect Milk or Skin Aqua Super Moisture Milk which tells you in the packaging to shake the bottle first before you begin to apply.

When I opened the comments I saw another cosmetic chemist agreed with what she said with the comments being:

"the way I would never buy a shake well sunscreen"

"shake well products typically mean they have experienced separation in stability testing. I do NOT want that with a sunscreen"

So I find all of these interesting since a lot of well-liked and praised sunscreens are the ones that you need to shake well first before using. This is my first time seeing this being discussed even though I am aware that these type of sunscreens could be prone to user error as people could possibly not shake the bottle well enough or simply not shake at all. (I see some influencers barely shaking the bottle where they just do a soft up down up motion and they're finished.)
