I tried stamping for the first time using a halloween stamping plate and stamper from Maniology but i could not get it to work. The polish simply would not stick to the stamper. I used regular polish, and i tried light pressure, hard pressure, filing the stamper, washing the stamper in soap and water, and then i gave up. If anyone with experience in stamping can help that would be greatly appreciated.

I had this problem when I was first trying and it was really frustrating. My problem was I wasn’t being fast enough- swipe and go. As for pressure, I heard someone say that you roll it with the kind of pressure you’d use to kiss the top of a bird’s head. It was very specific and it stuck with me.

  2. You need stamping polish. It’s formulated differently than regular and sticks better. You might also have damaged the stamper by filing it. If the surface isn’t smooth, you’ll have gaps in the image.

  3. The maniology monocle stamper is terrible and did not work for me. It worked a little better if you leave it upside down on paper overnight. I did this about two nights with a weight on top to getting it working. I rarely use it tho.

I use regular polish for stamping with the creative shop stamper and it works great. I’ve also heard good things about the moyra and clear jelly stampers
